Reverend Gregory Lewel Payton accepted the call to the Gospel ministry and was licensed in 1998. He is a Son of the Logos Baptist Assembly in Chicago under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Donald L. Parson, where he was a faithful member for 21 years. Rev. Payton became a certified Baptist Sunday School teacher in 2001 at Logos, and was ordained as an Elder in 2007 while serving as Youth Pastor at Lights of Zion Ministries in Chicago under the Pastorate of Bishop Charles A. Mickens. He is presently a member of New Beginnings Church of Chicago under the pastorate of Rev. Corey B. Brooks, where he serves as an Elder and Christian Education Instructor.
Rev. Payton holds a Master's Degree in Urban Studies from Moody Bible Institute (2009). This humble servant has a passion for preaching, teaching, evangelism, community outreach, mentoring and serving the body of Christ wherever he is needed. He is also an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated as a part of The Xi Lambda Chapter in Chicago, where he currently serves as Chaplain.
Rev. Payton's goal in ministry is to engage and humbly serve the body of Christ, to lead lost souls to Christ, and to make disciples of Christ. He is currently working on accomplishing these ministry goals through Church Planting.
Rev. Payton is a happily married (Keyonna) father of five (Julian, Justin, Jayden, Jayla & Gabrielle), and grandfather of one (Kaydence). He is an experienced Wedding Officiant who is passionate about revealing God's design for marriage and helping couples plan and prepare for a biblically successful union.
